MY URBAN PIANO | Episode 4
RIVER OF LOVE
Prague
There are many historical connections between Luxembourg and Prague. For instance, John the Blind and his son Charles IV, who is venerated in the Czech Republic to this day, were both Kings of Bohemia. It was Charles IV who had the Charles Bridge built across the Vltava, a fascinating architectural gem spanning the river to this day. One of the most famous compositions in music history is “The Moldau” (“Vltava”) by the Czech national composer Bedřich Smetana. My piece “River of Love” combines the majestic beauty of the Vltava River with the romantic mood of the city of Prague. We filmed some scenes of the music video on board a ship. In honor of the famous City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, I wrote an orchestral score for “River of Love” and recorded the piece together with them.
