HEARTLAND
Esch-sur-Alzette
As a child of the “Minett”, the southern region of Luxembourg, I wanted to honor my home country and composed the anthem “Heartland” for the city of Esch (European Capital of Culture in 2022). Not only have I many beautiful and precious memories of my childhood and youth, which I spent in Schifflange and Esch, but these are also the places to which I owe my academic and musical education. Even though I do not live there anymore, a piece of my heart will forever stay in my old hometown.
Als Kind des „Minetts“, der südlichen Region Luxemburgs, wollte ich meiner Heimat ein Denkmal setzen und komponierte für die Stadt Esch (europäische Kulturhauptstadt 2022) die Hymne „Heartland“. Neben vielen schönen Kindheits- und Jugenderinnerungen verdanke ich Schifflingen und Esch meine Schul- und Musikausbildung. Auch wenn ich mittlerweile nicht mehr dort lebe, so verweilt ein Stück meines Herzens doch für immer in meiner alten Heimat.
